Transformers Armada Tribute - This Is War

Ah...finally...gonna be able to sleep.

On topic, there have been many incarnations of Transformers over the years. One that always stuck out in my mind though was Transformers Armada, easily the best anime ever done of Transformers (if we're going with Western cartoons it'd be Beast Wars or Animated). And as I've though more about it I think I've come to realize some things as to why I like Armada so much. Crap actually happens in it.

Yes the first half on Earth can be a bit dull at times, but stuff was still happening. And when it wasn't you usually had, at the least, interesting animations for the transformations. Even more frequently than many of the cartoons though, Armada seemed to excel in having a focus on good animation the further in the story got to the point where the Unicron Battles has some of the most memorable scenes in the franchise to me.

Armada is my prefered version of the Decepticon Autobot WAR story. Usually when an entry is made about the war it tends to be so rediculously dark and serious and bland that it's just boring like in the live action crap or many instances in Prime. But at the exact opposite end of the spectrum you have G1 which is just...well...ranges from bizarre to flat-out crap most of the time. Armada though strikes the balance of humor, drama, and emotion just right. And I always thought Armada shoulda just been its own thing considering how embarrassing (and storywise insulting) its sequel is, not even mentioning Cybertron getting tacked onto the end when its original Japanese version had nothing to do with the Armada Energon universe.

But eh, at least this is still its own series. Hopefully this video did it some justice ^_^
