MASTER COOKBOOK RECIPE #101 BLUEBERRY BISCUITS
Ingredients:
1 cup self-rising flour
1/4 cup salted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup whole buttermilk, amount may vary
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
Recipe #102 Sweet Biscuit Glaze (see recipe below)
Instructions:
Combine flour, butter, and sugar with a blending fork or pastry blender until it is crumbly. Gradually add milk until the mixture is thick and no dry flour remains. Turn dough onto a floured surface, sift more flour on top, and fold by hand 4-5 times. Pat dough 1/2-inch high and add blueberries on top. Gently fold the dough over them, turning the dough 2-3 more times. Do not push down hard and crush berries. Pat dough to 3/4-inch tall, cut out biscuits, place close together on a greased aluminum pan, and bake at 450°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Option: Use a a different type of berry for another flavor profile. If using frozen berries, do not thaw
before folding into the dough. Enjoy y'all!!
MASTER COOKBOOK RECIPE #102 SWEET BISCUIT GLAZE
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp salted butter, melted
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp cream
Instructions:
Mix the glaze ingredients until creamy. Spread glaze over the top of warm biscuits. Enjoy y'all!!
