This video goes over the Function Keys feature of Spyder Studio for the Christie Spyder x80. The example uses a four-destination show with multiple sources. Function Keys are like action keys. They allow less common, but sometimes still important changes to be made to the show, such as sending commands over a network, changing a source, freezing a layer, and more. I only touch briefly on function keys, as many of them don't pertain to live events or I otherwise don't have a good way of demonstrating their use without the Spyder x80 hardware hooked up right here in my home.

This video tutorial is part 6 of a series on how to program and operate the Spyder x80 hardware using the Spyder Studio software. I had some questions about the spyder, and had trouble getting some clear answers, and youtube had practically nothing on the x80, so I am trying to fill that need with these videos. Please understand that I am a video engineer for live events, not a video editor. I am going at a slow pace because I want to make it easy for you to follow along, and also, I did not write a script.
