I am happy to announce that yesterday at the bonporti prize I was awarded the "Merit Prize" for the section of the "New historical composition" competition.

This section of the competition took place with the drawing by lot of a theme, which was a bass by chaconne, or "di Ruggiero", over which we would have to compose a piece.

Personally, doing a rather imprudent thing, I moved away from the main request, and I did not treat the chaconne theme as an ostinato bass, but I used it as a starting point to extract 4 subjects for a keyboard Ricercare, in the form similar to a motet, in a mid-seventeenth-century Italian style.

Despite this, the jury really appreciated the Recercare, and decided to award me the prize of merit.
