My step-mother in Texas has always wondered what my studio apartment on the 50th floor at Marina City in Chicago really looked like.
Well, here is a walk-through, from the elevator, through my little apartment, and onto the balcony.
Folks from the suburbs and from the South always seem to say, "Is this IT? Where's the bedroom?"
Yes, this is it!

560 square feet, plus a 20' x 10' half-circle balcony on the 50th floor.

Which is a little over 173 square feet on the balcony (Pi multiplied by 10 and multiply the result by itself to get the answer, remember? God! You eighth-graders know NOTHING!!)

Anyway, THIS is what eleven-hundred bucks a month gets you in downtown Chicago.(I can also buy this place for $175,000 plus $275-per-month condo assessment.) Both prices are really quite a steal for downtown Chicago. I think the prices are so low because this place was designed in 1959 completed in 1964.
The walls are really thick; solid concrete, which is part of the building structure. You never hear a sound from any other tenant and the heating and cooling bills are incredibly low. I seldom pay more than $50 a month in winter or summer.
I love living here at Marina City. It's a Chicago landmark. built 50 years ago. It still functions what it was designed to do -- provide the residents of Chicago with an efficient, affordable place to live in the heart of downtown.

Plus - - It looks so awfully funky.
Dirty laundry and all. . .
