The 138th Durham Miners Gala, Saturday July 13th 2024.

The Houghton Lodge and Lambton Lodge banners were presented at the ‘Big Meeting’ and were carried by the last miners in Durham, from U.K. Mining Ventures, their 3rd year of involvement with the two banners.

Music for the banners was provided, for the first time, by Uppermill Band of Saddleworth.

As the weather forecast had predicated, the day was a washout, but the inclement weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the many attendees who turned out to support the banners and bands.
