After letting the ending settle for a bit, I've been giving it thought and the more I think about it, the more unsatisfied I am with how things ended. I explain during the video that I would not be content with the "Sacrificing Chloe" option, because it pretty much invalidates the entire game. Every choice you've made in the 15 or so hours it takes the play the game is for nothing as the game will never take place. However, with how little you're shown in the "Sacrificing Arcadia Bay" option, there is no guarantee your choices had any gravity at all as you never see if all the people you saved actually survived and all of the people who died along the way may have very well died anyway. With the second option, there is some potential for some of the choices to mean anything, but it's not guaranteed as we're never shown any footage of Kate or any of the others with rescue teams or anything. And as I thought about this more, I think the ending just fails to deliver on what was promised. It really would have taken less than 1 minute's worth of scenes, no voice acting needed, to give some validity to all of the choices (even a montage of stills! remember the whole photography theme to the game!), but the devs failed to do that. As a result, I can't really continue saying great things about the game and I'm starting to believe it is mediocre at best. There were a few things that the game did right as it progressed, but the problem is that the ending just couldn't bring everything together and the whole suffers as a result of it. I could forgive more of this if not for the whole binary ending, but if they took the easy way out, they needed to go a bit further to really sell it.

As for whether or not I'd recommend the game, I'd have to put out the disclaimer that the choices don't matter much in the grand scheme and let people decide from there. For those that thought the Walking Dead was a cop out, the exact same thing is to be found here. If you were satisfied with that, you might like what you find here. As for me, the devs would have to step up in order to get me to buy a second season, because I am not satisfied.
