If you spend an average of $4 per workday on caffeine, this adds up to $1,040 per year, which isn't a lot at first. But there's a way for you to get an extra $1,040 per year for free through a method called DGI.

1. DGI - Also known as Dividend Growth Investing, DGI is investing in solid, safe, long-term stocks that pay out a good percentage dividend yield. Companies like Coca Cola and Apple pay out dividends in the form of cash to people who own their stock.

2. How Much Should You Invest? - If you build out a stock portfolio that pays out 4% dividends every year, you'd need $26,000 invested to get paid $1,040 per year in free money.

3. How Do You Save Up This Much? - If you're a military member, then you have very low expenses. If you save and invest $1,000 a month, you'll get to $26,000 in 2.25 years!

4. Compound Interest - If you let that $26,000 sit there without adding more money with an 8% annual return, that money will be $275,000 after 30 years.
