No, this episode is not about the Guns'n'Roses album, it's about a literal Chinese democracy alternate history scenario. It's appropriately titled, though, because, like the album, this episode has had a long and troubled production and is much-delayed (by my standards). This was gonna be my April Fools Day entry into the Tor In China series, but I bit off more than I could chew with all the maps and diagrams, plus an hour-plus-long script, and after days of slogging through it, I decided to put out some other stuff to tide you over during the past week. I'd love to do alt-hist stuff on this channel more often, but I don't plan to do any more totally fictional kayfabe episodes like this other than on future April 1sts. But I had a lot of fun coming up with this deliberately mind-screwing election, so enjoy!

I will definitely not be allowed to get a visa to get back into mainland China with this video associated with me, lol. But that's alright - while I've said in previous videos that I'll be going back to mainland China later this year to teach English, I'm now leaning heavily toward Taiwan instead. I will probably visit mainland China while I'm there, but I'll get a tourist visa rather than a student or work visa, and I'll unlist my China videos, especially this one, for a few weeks when I'm applying for that. If this video disappears sometime this summer, that's why - it'll be back before long.

Come to think of it, the decade-long production of the Guns'n'Roses album Chinese Democracy could be a TCOC episode in itself. Might do that sometime.
