If your oven isn't circulating heat, leading to burnt tops and raw bottoms, your oven fan is the problem! Fixing it requires careful electrical testing, usually focusing on the main power chain components: the thermal cut-out (TCO) and the fan motor itself.

🛑 EXTREME SAFETY WARNING! Ovens and cookers use high-amperage 240V electricity. Before opening the back panel or touching any component, you MUST unplug the appliance from the wall or isolate power at the main consumer unit. Never work on an oven that is still plugged in.

In this video, we use a multimeter to diagnose the 3 main points of failure:

The TCO Check: The single most common culprit! We show you how to locate the Thermal Cut-Out switch and test it for continuity. If it shows an open circuit, it has likely failed and needs replacing.

Motor Winding Test: How to safely disconnect the fan motor and test the windings for continuity. A bad reading here means the motor itself has burnt out and needs to be replaced.

Wiring and Power: Quick checks on the wiring leading to the motor and the power flow from the timer/control board to ensure current is reaching the circuit.
