Tell me a few words about your background and work experience.

My name is Dan. I’ve been working at sea for 7 years. I started working at sea when I was a 3d year student in Maritime college. I’ve had three contracts as a cadet, then I was promoted to a Junior Officer. After I had 3 contracts as a third Officer and I’ve just finished my 2nd contract as a Second Officer.

What safety rules must be followed on board of the vessel?
Our safety policy is regulated by company’s Safety management system.
Every crew member has safety familiarization after he joins the vessel. He must be familiar with location of life saving and fire fighting appliances, know where his muster station and his actions in case of emergency. Crew member has to wear PPE when he works on deck, follow safety instructions during mooring and anchoring operations operation, take part in safety meetings. Before hazardous work risk assessment must be conducted and work permit is issued.
