A new Ford Tourneo Custom is said to be coming to the dealers in 2023. This was revealed by Ford Pro, the company’s new commercial vehicle division, as they revealed some of the details concerning the model line-up ahead of its launch. And from what we know so far, it is enough to leave the fans excited.
This people carrier will be based on the recently revealed all-new Ford Transit Custom. In addition to that, it will also come with the same electric, PHEV, and diesel powertrains as the cargo model. This new model has come at a very important time when you look at Ford’s lineup. It will be released just as the S-MAX and Galaxy MPVs are being discontinued in 2023 with no replacements at all. Therefore, if you consider this, you will see that the Tourneo Custom is the perfect fit for families that are looking for a practical multi-seater with more space than the average SUV can provide.
This battery has been connected to an electric motor that is capable of giving the car about 215 bhp. This motor drives the front wheels, and one-pedal driving is available. This car has a towing capacity of up to two tons and generous payload capacities, which places the Tourneo and the e-Tourneo Custom ahead of its rivals, which include the Volkswagen ID. Buzz and Stellantis Group electric vans, such as the Citroen e-Spacetourer and Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric.
No matter the powertrain you choose, the Tourneo Custom promises to deliver a more car-like passenger experience than before. In addition to all the additional space that will be there, there will also be Isofix mounts on all three seats in the middle row. These will come in handy when you are fitting that baby chair in the car. There is also the option of glass, which adds to the sense of space. Some of the options for these cars include 19-inch alloy wheels, man-made leather, and matrix LED lighting, all of which add to the style and comfort of the car. All of the trim levels will be available with electric, PHEV, and diesel powertrains, depending on what you want.
In addition to all the available trim levels, the Tourneo Custom will also come as a plug-in hybrid. There was a PHEV version of the previous Tourneo and Transit Custom offered by Ford, and they have used the knowledge and reports from these previous models to develop a better and more improved version.
We have already seen that the e-Tourneo Custom is officially being offered by Ford Pro, which is the brand for light commercial vehicles. They decided to come up with the passenger car version for private customers, and they have done a great job at that.
The dashboard is also quite interesting, with some interesting features on the way. Here, you will find a 13.0-inch infotainment touchscreen that runs on Ford’s Sync 4 software, which is standard. In addition to that, there is a little fancy touch to the steering wheel, with Ford offering a new "tilting" steering wheel on the E-Transit Custom. And if need be, this steering wheel can be folded flat into a table.
Ford has also done its best to emphasize utility in the Tourneo Custom. The side doors are powered, which offers hands-free operation.
