Short kayak run on the Androscoggin in Western Maine. Put-in at the Gilead Bridge, take out at Newt's Landing six miles downriver in West Bethel. We wash it all down with a Smuttynose Wood Chop Chocolate Stout -- surprisingly still excellent after four years in the beer fridge. The beer fridge at Twitchell Brook Farm has a constantly changing roster of over 30 varieties; some linger longer than others. Smuttynose Brewing is located in Hampton NH.
