Its Choons and tunes with Violet! How do we manage heat issues or why should you be aware of heat and its dangers?

1stly within car audio heat is not your friend, unlike where its needed to cook. Here you will cook your equipment, from your speakers, subwoofers to amplifiers. A by-product of converting electrical signal to run your car audio is sound + heat. We want the sound part but not Heat.

We can't get rid of Heat completely, so what we do? We find ways to manage it better. Managing your heat means knowing when your car audio system is producing high amounts of heat and how to lower the temperature so your equipment doesn't burn.

The video shows where you see heat coming from. These are usually taken for granted as they commonly are not infront ofnyou to consider when using them. Out of sight, so it becomes out of mind. We forget to watch how hot things get and how it can break and next thing its an early end to your equipment's life.

To share a recent story, we played at a recent show where #seeingisbelieving and #dingdungs were out full force on 34 degree weather. Everyone was wanting a piece of the unlimited LTO power that we introduced and we were loving dishing out 18hz demos to friends and frenemies but with direct sun, the amplifier temperature were baking like Albany ovens during back to school rush for school lunch bread. Luckily, our amplifiers have built in thermal protection and after cooling they switched back on. Inside the box, the subwoofer coils were banging and coils were cooking too.. The demos were so sweet, we didn't want to prematurely pull out from 18hz demo and stayed locked in. Something had to give. It was the coils or us. 5min later, Coils 1, Us 0.

Our subwoofer coils completely unravelled due to heat and the glue holding them together melting. No clipping, no burnt coil. Just heat temperature levels were beyond 100 degrees. The video shows how easy it is to get to halfway there temperatures.

So let this he a lesson to you; watch your temperature. Look for signs or smells when playing long and hard. It's not built using indestructible parts. They suffer wear and tear. Know your limits and your equipment will last you for very long time.

Watch out for the next video showing the run in results of before and after.
