Shur: Traditional Nazrul Geeti, Indian Raag blended with Modern Islamic Melody
Commentary : "Muhammad Mustafa Salli Ala" is a classic devotional poem written by the Bengali Sufi and mystic poet and musician Kazi Nazrul Islam(d. 1899) who composed some of the most prominent of devotional poetry along with their musical soundscapes. His great contribution in religious and devotional poetry is celebrated highly for more than a century.

This beautiful piece describes the endless glory of the greatest human creation of Allah, Muhammad (PBUH), The chosen one/Mustafa. This song is actually an ode describing the Prophet's greatness and characteristics. The poet mentions Muhammad (PBUH) as the king of kings to hail him to the maximum.

*Mustafa is an arabic word, meaning "The Chosen One" . According to the holy book of Islam, Qur'an, Muhammad SAWS is chosen by God's divine will as a guide for the whole mankind and to banish the darkness.

**Kamliwala has come from the arabic word "Kamil" which means perfect. As prophet Muhammad PBUH is considered as the Khayru KhalqiAllah, or the best of all creations, he is called as "Perfect Man".

*Adhar Duniya is a bangla phrase referring to the dark age(age of jaheliyyah) in which the world was covered with the darkness of corruption, robbery, anarchy and blood sheds. Prophet Muhammad saws came to stop the blood shed and bring a new life to the humankind. His presence in the earth is compared to a heavenly aura.

*Kadicho Nirala is a phrase reminding of the day of judgment. On this day, every soul seeks for the salvation of its own. Even the parents forget their child but it is only Muhammad PBUH who will seek salvation for his ummah instead of himself.

*Tomari Dhyan is one of the slightly controversial phrases and often argued on regarding the word "Dhyan/Meditation". Some people might like to argue telling that the only worthy owner of all our meditation is Allah and not Prophet Muhammad saws. While great Luminaries like Hassan Ibn Thabit or Rumi or such poets clearly states that When Allah Himself hails His Beloved Prophet Muhammad, it indicates that we all must hail and meditate upon him and it must not be taken as wrong.

This devotional song/ode is one of the most venerated ones which belongs to bangla traditional Islamic/Spiritual realm of music and poetry. Ishrak Hussain attempts to recreate this ancient gem with the flavour and touch of Arabian/Persian sound with the majestic strokes of Daf so that people from all parts of the world(whoever takes love and interest in enjoying the music of sufi genre) may find it matched with their taste.
