Iran just pushed U.S. naval defenses to the limit — twice — in a single day. First, a drone threatened the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea. Then, fast attack boats attempted to hijack a U.S.-flagged tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. Several reports claim another drone was spotted later.
So here’s the question on everyone’s mind: Could Iran actually hit or sink a U.S. aircraft carrier today?

On February 3, an Iranian surveillance drone — possibly a Shahed-139 or Shahed-129 — maneuvered aggressively toward the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, roughly 500 miles from Iran’s coast. U.S. forces first tried de-escalation. But the drone kept advancing. A U.S. Navy F-35C Lightning II launched from the carrier and intercepted the drone, shooting it down
