Описание к видео Formula 1000 Race Car Test 2, DIY Home Made Hand Built

Second test of the Ludemann Engineering Formula 1000 (SCCA FB) race car at Bira Circuit, Pattaya, Thailand. Also includes a short rock video featuring the world famous Pit Girl!

This car was designed from a clean sheet of paper and hand built by me at my home in Thailand. It uses a Suzuki GSX-R1000 engine, Wilwood brakes, Tilton master cylinders, OZ Racing wheels, Hoosier tires, Autosport Labs data acquisition and telemetry system, Honda axles, bearings, & differential, Momo steering wheel, QA rod ends, and Chinese motorcycle springs & dampers. I designed and fabricated the body, frame, suspension, and interior.

This is the first test with the front & rear wings, diffuser, airbox, engine air intake scoops, engine cover, and front fuselage cover. Also, all new springs and dampers are installed, corner weights are correct, and front caster has been reduced to lower steering effort.

Results of the test... All rear wing & diffuser supports broke, twice, so we're getting LOTS of downforce. Tire pressures were too high, the tires were old, and the driver was not familiar with scrubbing tires up to temperature, so they didn't never produced grip. As a result I got a little behind on my steering on the third lap of the first stint. Also had a small coolant leak at the left end of the crossover tube, and the radiant heat from the new exhaust was toasting the engine cover in one place. Debugging continues...
