International women's day is celebrated every 8th of March annually.
The first IWD gathering happened in 1911.
The day marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
Zuri awards is an award ceremony that was inaugurated 6yrs ago in Kenya.
The event is a platform that recognizes, celebrates and supports women who are impacting and changing the lives of others in communities and is part of the annual International Women’s Day Celebration.
In line with this year's IWD theme breaking the bias which pushes for a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive and where difference is valued and celebrated, Zuri awards ran with the same theme.
This year in partnership with east African breweries limited they held a gala dinner where women doing exemplary well in different fields for their communities were recognized and awarded.
The categories ranged from health, education, agriculture, media, innovation and humanitarian just to mention a few.
Professor Margaret Kobia Cs Ministry of Public Service, Gender, Senior Citizens, Social Protection and Special Program was the chief guest.
Congratulations to all the honourees plus the nominees for a job well done.
