Tabla maestro Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri's performance at the FEA-curated Past/Present festival in Kolkata was nothing short of brilliant.
In this epic one and a half hour recital, he demonstrated a wide range of styles and techniques on the tabla, from traditional compositions to rarely heard bandishes from Khalifa Abid Hussain Khan-saheb and others, tukras and farad compositions to chakradars.
He was ably supported by Dilshad Khan on the sarangi.
