In this Urbex urban exploring video we visit The Mapperley disused railway tunnel in Nottingham. This tunnel is a great example of British victorian railway architecture. The tunnel was on the Derbyshire and Staffordshire extension of the Great Northern Railway. This abandoned railway tunnel has suffered serious damage from subsidence caused by the nearby coal mining works in the area. A great tower of rubbish that defies gravity stands underneath one of the ventilation shafts. We will explore that and then the other side the tunnel is filled in. This video is part of the history of British railways and has morphed entirely into something else during its abandonment.
