PORTLAND EXTRAVAGANZA EVENT! Thanks to all the controllers and pilots who made this event a fantastic day of flying. This was my first time filing a VFR flight for Cape Air Virtual w/ATC and it was a learning experience for sure. I counted only one busted runway-light on 4L KBOS! And that's really hard to do with a 150-foot-wide runway and a twin piston aircraft. 15kt direct crosswind is not an excuse.

Arriving to Boston from the North, we used (well kinda) the BRAVO 4 VFR coded route to enter the Class B (takes you pretty far south over KOWD), but then once we got approved for the approach, we just entered the VISUAL 4L approach into the TDS GTN750xi and intercepted the extended magenta line. It was also my first time trying the visual approach feature on the GTN750xi. No vertical guidance (it did warn us that we might not get vertical guidance), but the magenta lateral guidance was worth it.

Probably better off setting up the RNAV 4L so I could get vertical guidance...or just fly the airplane onto a left downwind at pattern altitude like normal folks flying VFR!!! Ohhh and make sure you don't miss the airliner that blew way through the localizer on 4R and ventured just behind our 4L approach...
