Copper prospecting and exploration - Part 1 - How to identify copper minerals

Copper is beautiful, but it’s so important! It’s essential, it’s precious – without copper, our lives would be totally different and all the technological marvels would be gone. The future for copper prices is bright because we dont have enough and we need more copper. Prospecting for copper right now is a good thing – copper deposits can be very valuable. We as a planet have not put the emphasis on exploring for copper in the past that we needed to do. In prospecting for copper, you need to be able to recognize copper minerals. There are oxidized copper ores of bright and beautiful colors. These include copper based gems like turquoise, malachite and azurite. Most of the copper mined these days comes out of the ground as sulfides. In this video, we will take a look at both types of copper minerals, oxidized and sulfide types.
