Laos with Kids! - Vientiane and Luang Prabang

Описание к видео Laos with Kids! - Vientiane and Luang Prabang

We had a 2-night stay in Vientiane, Laos, before hopping on a budget propeller plane to take us into Luang Prabang. It was not a lot more expensive than a 13-hours bus ride and we get to spend more time in Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang was simply magnificent! There were numerous Buddhist temples and monasteries that dated back to the 18th century and a good lead up for the kids to the grander Angkor temples in Cambodia.

The only downside was that the so called elephant orphanage we visited offered rides for tourists - which we turned down. However, there was a very well organised moon bear conservation program that we supported. Adam was a big fan and insisted on wearing his “Save the Bear” tee shirt every day!

We could not swim at the Kuang Si Waterfalls because it was just too cold but the area was still gorgeous. There were also caves to explore, good food to sample and the highlight would have to be our S$15 “private river cruise” down the Mekong. Not quite the river Seine but sunset was magic!

Basic phrases in Lao was so catchy that even Adam was going around saying hello and thank you.
