The Evolution Of Shroud - Failed MtG Designs

Throughout the history of Magic, Wizards has rolled out and decommissioned various forms of protection for their Creatures. From Regeneration to the Protection ability itself, Wizards has always been experimenting with ways to stop the opponent from interacting with threats. One of the most interesting histories is the evolution of Shroud into Hexproof and eventually into Ward. Today, we’re going to go over what all these abilities do, why Wizards changed to each of them and why they changed their mind again, and why these kinds of abilities are so important in the first place.
