In the wake of Russia’s illegal and brutal invasion of Ukraine, the United States has coordinated its response closely with its European allies and partners. Many European states have acted swiftly and boldly, both unilaterally and via multilateral institutions like the European Union. The Netherlands have been active in this response, supporting EU sanctions packages and sending military equipment to Ukraine.

Please join CSIS for a conversation with Wopke Hoekstra, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, about the war in Ukraine, its implications for transatlantic security cooperation, and the view from the Netherlands on what measures should come next. Minister Hoekstra was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Netherlands in January 2022. This conversation will be moderated by Dr. Seth Jones, Senior Vice President and Director of the International Security Program at CSIS.
