In this video I continue my motorcycle journey around India by stopping in Kolhapur, Maharashtra to explore the city for a day. In this day tour of the city I visited the new palace, the 1884 residence of the Chhatrapati of Kolhapur which is now a museum containing old pictures, paintings, an arms gallery and taxidermy room. After this I stop at the famous Bawad Misal restaurant to try their Misal pav. This restaurant has been serving the traditional Maharashtrian dish of Misal Pav for over 100 years, and has served many people including Bollywood actors and actresses who visit here. Ending the day, we visit the Shri Mahalakshmi Devi (ambabai) temple dedicated to Laxmi (Lakshmi), the goddess of wealth and fortune. This 12th century Hindu temple is known for its elaborate and detailed sculptures on the outside of the temple.
