The Boxboro Regency Hotel in Boxborough, Massachusetts, will be hosting a three-day celebration of music and pop culture from June 30 to July 2, 2023. The MusicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza promises a weekend filled with movie and TV car displays, live concerts, celebrity appearances, and more. One of the highlights of the event is Micky Dolenz, the only surviving member of the iconic pop-rock band, the Monkees. Fans can look forward to autograph signings, selfie opportunities (subject to a fee), and the chance to meet Dolenz in person, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.

Dolenz rose to fame in the mid-1960s when he joined the Monkees, a band formed specifically for the television series of the same name. Airing from 1966 to 1968, the show catapulted Dolenz and his bandmates – Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork – to stardom. The Monkees' unforgettable hits like "Last Train to Clarksville," "I'm a Believer," and "Daydream Believer" cemented their place in music history.

In addition to his time with the Monkees, Dolenz pursued a successful solo music career, releasing albums such as "Micky Dolenz Puts You to Sleep" (1991) and "Remember" (2012). He also lent his voice to various animated series and ventured into television direction and production, showcasing his versatility in the ever-changing entertainment industry.

While the Monkees eventually disbanded, they reunited several times, with their 1986 reunion reigniting interest in their music. The band continued to tour and record, culminating in the release of their latest album, "Good Times!" in 2016. Sadly, with the passing of Davy Jones in 2012, Peter Tork in 2019, and Michael Nesmith in 2021, Dolenz remains the sole surviving original member.

The MusicCon & Collectibles Extravaganza will offer a diverse range of attractions, from vintage cars to panels, presentations, and live music concerts. Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with the Monkees' custom Pontiac GTO, known as the Monkeemobile! Other celebrity guests scheduled to appear include Butch Patrick, who played "Eddie Munster" on "The Munsters," and Richie Ramone, a former member of the punk band the Ramones. More guest announcements can be found on the event website, www.NEComicCons.com.

With daily and weekend passes available, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including browsing vendor booths selling records, musical instruments, memorabilia, autographs, posters, books, and pop culture collectibles.
