Greets fellow historians, and welcome to a late-night interview. Today, we have a first-timer on the show. Born in Panama into a U.S. Army military family, Jason Patrick grew up in Northern Virginia and Northern Alabama. Joining the Army in late 2003, he spent 11 years in the U.S. Army as a maintenance Warrant Officer. He spent four years at Ft. Drum, NY, with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Leaving the Army in 2015, his last duty assignment was instructing at Fort Leonard Wood. He went to work in 2015 as the Command Historian for the U.S. Army Engineer School. There at Leonard Wood, while working on coursework for a history major, he went to work as a Historian for the U.S. Air Force at the 319th Air Base Wing (later redesignated as the 319th Reconnaissance Wing in 2019) at Grand Forks AFB, ND, before taking a new position at Scott AFB, IL in May of this year. He is a father of two outstanding kiddos, an avid Route 66 enthusiast, traveler and advocate, motorcyclist, classic car enthusiast/owner, amateur mat maker, and general all-around nerd/geek.
