The elections in four states and one Union Territory are getting closer as the first phase of the 8-phase West Bengal Elections commencing from March 27. With assembly elections around the corner it is time for a shower of manifestoes…political parties are once again gearing up to publish their official stances on key policy issues. The month witnessed promises made by parties, both informally through speeches and formally through election manifestos. Political manifestos are interesting because the electorates get a glimpse of what is in store for them if the party they vote for comes to power. Political parties are trying their best to woo the voters especially the youth and women in the poll-bound states.
