It’s pretty rare to see a TV show pull off a late stage villain introduction as well as Stranger Things has, but the truth of the matter is, they’ve done exactly that with their main antagonist, Vecna. A decaying, warped entity that has orchestrated the events of this franchise from the very beginning, Vecna is cruel, calculated and quite adept at getting what he wants, even if he doesn’t get it the way he wants it to on the first go. He’s patient, enjoys the pain of others, and above all, his actor does complete justice to the unsettling nature of his character. Jamie Campbell Bower is absolutely fantastic as Vecna, Ozempic waistline jokes be damned, but the one thing that is STILL unclear about his most iconic role is its history.
