Tubal Patency Test

Tubal blockage is one of the causes of infertility.


There are basically five requirements needed to get pregnant naturally. These are:


1. The sperm of the man must be of quality ad quantity
2. The woman must know her fertile period
3. The inside of the womb must be able to accept ad keep a pregnancy
4. The tubes of the woman must be open
5. The woman must be producing quality eggs


These five requirements are necessary for investigations for infertility.


The kind of test done for the tube is called TUBAL PATENCY TEST.


The tube is very important for pregnancy because it is inside the tube that fertilization occurs.


There are various types of tubal blockage.


Full blockage means fertilization cannot occur.


Partial blockage means fertilization can occur but the embryos might not be able to get into the womb which results in ectopic pregnancy.


Causes of Tubal Blockage


Infections inside the tube gotten from STDs


Infections outside the tube like a ruptured appendices.
