Curalha (Chaves) 2024

À margem direita do rio Tâmega e a uma meia dezena de quilómetros para sudoeste da Cidade de Chaves, fica a pequena freguesia de Curalha, com seus cerca de 500 habitantes actuais. Com um território repartido por aprazível, plana e fecunda área de vale e uma estreita franja de topografia mais acidentada, onde se destaca o Castro de Curalha, vestígios da época pre-romana, esta freguesia detém um apreciável património natural incluindo no Vale do Salgueiro, um esplêndido trecho do Tâmega, correndo lesto entre exuberante moldura florestal e abraçado por um típico passadiço sobre poldras, curiosa e bem conservada estrutura granítica que garantirá, de há séculos por certo, a travessia do rio.

On the right bank of the Tamega river and a half dozen kilometers to the southwest of the city of Chaves, is the small parish of Curalha, with its current nearly 500 inhabitants. With a territory divided by pleasant, flat and fertile valley area and a narrow fringe of more rugged topography, where stands the Castro de Curalha, vestiges of the pre-Roman era, this parish has an appreciable natural heritage including in the Salgueiro Valley, a splendid stretch of the Tâmega, running quick between a lush forest frame and embraced by a typical walkway over stones, a curious and well-preserved granite structure that has allowed, for centuries, the crossing of the river.
