"Sindhi Sarangi" is the traditional instrument of "Langa" professional caste musician in western Rajasthan. It has nearly 26 strings. In which four main strings (called "BAJ ke taar) where bow plays. The first two strings are made of steel and the following two strings are made of localy pepared gut. All other sympathetic strings in which 8 strings is known "Zhara" and rest 17 strings called as "Jheel". Earlier it was an accompanying instrument of Langa singers but now a days some Langa musicians plays it as "solo'. In this video clip master Sikandar khan Langa playing some note patters on solo sarangi with the rhythm of Dholak which was earlier tabooed in their lore.
