The Ravi River in Lahore is experiencing severe flooding due to heavy monsoon rains and water releases from India's dams. Here's the current situation:


Water Flow: The river's water flow has reached 90,500 cusecs at Shahdara, with expectations of further increase.

Flood Alert: A high alert has been issued, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.


Evacuations: Over 20,000 residents living near the riverbanks have been evacuated, with thousands more being relocated to safer areas.


Rescue Operations: Army, Rangers, and Rescue 1122 teams are conducting large-scale rescue operations, with over 210,000 people safely evacuated so far.


Affected Areas: Low-lying areas, including Shahdara, Ravi Road, Harbanspura, Shalimar, and Mughalpura, are severely affected, with urban flooding reported in several areas.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of further rainfall and potential flooding in the coming days. Authorities are urging citizens to stay alert and follow evacuation instructions
