Day 2: Florø to Molde

Описание к видео Day 2: Florø to Molde

Florø and Måloy were gone before I arose, at 7 am, for some breakfast.
Torvik, where there was a short (10 minute) stop, was our next port of call.
This small town, even though it now has a good road network, still relies on the Hurtigruten ships for some cargo and passengers.

Ålesund was next. This Art Nouveau inspired city is a delight, with its numerous spires, towers and decorative facades.

During the months of June,July and August, the ship heads to Geirangerfjord, for an excursion, before heading back to Ålesund. This alsoapplies to the months of September and October where the ship makes an excursion to Hjørundfjord. For all other months, as happened to us, the ship stays in port for 10 hours.

After departing Molde, we entered an area of open sea, known as "Hustadvika", where we were warned of a potential rough passage. Apart from one spell, it was nice and smooth. This stretch can also be extremely rough!
