In his entry into the Holy Grail War, Shirou summoned his servant Saber - Artoria Pendragon. As Master and Servant, they fought many battles to claim victory and along the way, starts to fall for one another. Saber's wish upon the grail was initially to fix her past - Britain's history, but after spending time with Shirou, she starts to accept the past as it is and move on.

At the final battle, they destroyed the holy grail and Saber was to return to her timeline. Despite this, Shirou vows to meet her again someday; For surely, they will be reunited once more...
