Day 31

We traveled to the sun altar. A path had been opened thanks to the sun. We went down the staircase and while the shade was nice, it was...oddly cold. I know we were out of the hot sun but it shouldn't have been this cold.
Professor Toad spotted a Toad encased in ice. He immediately got to work chipping away at the ice, but I told him that wouldn't be necessary. Olivia used the Fire Vellumental's powers to melt the ice. The Toad took a while to get up, but he was fine.
His name was Captain T. Ode, the person Professor Toad was looking for. He was beyond ecstatic and wouldn't stop asking him questions. The captain talked a little differently than we did. It must've been how they talked back in the day. He asked for the whereabouts of his marino. Olivia mentioned that there was a marino at the museum and the captain set off to get it.
Olivia said that we should head after the next streamer and I told her that I saw the purple streamer while I was at sea with Bob-omb. She wanted to see it immediately. I asked Professor Toad if he would like to come with us, but he said he couldn't. He had to go back to his teaching job at the university. Understandable.
I wished him luck and Olivia and I went back to Toad Town. Olivia wanted to examine the purple streamer first before we looked for the captain. I figured it wouldn't hurt to see where it led. I talked to the Toad that helped me and Bob-omb...earlier, and he was willing to help us out. We followed the streamer as far as possible, but it went straight into the fog.
The Toad told us that Captain Ode might have a sea chart to navigate us through the fog. We turned back and went to the museum just to see if he was there. Well, he was, and he was very pleased that his marino was safe. The captain said that we could use his sea chart if we helped him get the marino back to sea. Thankfully, a bunch of Toads and monty moles helped us hook the marino to the boat and we set off.
Captain Ode told us that the secret to getting rid of the fog was at Bonehead Island, so that's where we're headed. Unfortunately, it's in the fog itself. It'll take us a while to navigate, but hopefully we'll be able to find it soon.
