The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is a family-friendly luxury destination resort located in Sorrento's town center, just 60km south of Napoli, in the heart of Sorrento Peninsula on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples. The building is secluded from the main square by private gardens with citrus groves. Guests pass through the main gate and through the gardens to find the Hotel right on Sorrento's seafront. The hotel dates back to the early 1800s and is built on the same spot where Roman Emperor August had his villa. The hotel is owned and managed by the Fiorentino family for six generations.

The hotel has 91 rooms with a view, including 21 suites, among which the famous Pompeii, Enrico Caruso, Pavarotti, and Royal suites. The Excelsior Vittoria is a historic Grand Hotel comprising three different blocks built between 1834 and 1880. Because of its unique layout, the Hotel can offer a generous selection of rooms with various features. Almost all rooms have a terrace or a balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples or the beautiful hotel grounds. The historic suites are tastefully furnished with original period furniture and have a terrace looking out over the Bay, affording splendid views and spectacular sunsets. The Enrico Caruso suite, very much in demand, retains the same décor and furnishings as when the famous Italian tenor stayed there for several months in 1921. The Pompeii Suite has recently been renovated and decorated with frescoes inspired by the decoration of the most handsome villas in nearby Pompeii.

The Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is notable for its private gardens, which lead from Sorrento's main square to the Hotel entrance. Five acres of luxuriant grounds full of beautiful Mediterranean plants and flowers, the gardens are an important part of Sorrento, containing several ancient specimens and magnificent blooms. Guests can enjoy a stroll and admire the plants or relax in the shade of the trees and take in the unparalleled beauty of the Bay of Naples. And with no shortage of different paths to follow, this is also the ideal place to take a jog or do a few keep-fit exercises in the open air.
