Tabletop Hoops 🏀 "Boxed Games" Series: Part V (Statis Pro Basketball)

The fifth installment of the "Boxed Games" series is "Statis Pro Basketball," originally developed by Midwest Research of Waterloo, Iowa, in about 1972 as "NBA Players Association Basketball Game." This game, the foundation of Avalon Hill's "Statis Pro Basketball," lasted from 1972 thru around 1990. Once Avalon Hill dropped its boxed sports games (basketball, baseball, football) from its catalog, the Statis Pro Basketball fell into the abyss for a few years before home brewers began to create their own seasons of cards over the past two decades (including "super creator" Phil Graham). Statis Pro Basketball currently has a large following and is typically mentioned in the same breath as Strat-O-Matic Pro Basketball as two vintage games that have withstood the test of time. Cheers!
