In Mid April 2022, months after the SIU Report on COVID-19 corruption in the state, none of the bidders have been restricted from doing business with the state. Over 330 were specifically recommended for restriction.
Restriction is a process initiated by the organ of state. Once restricted, National Treasury will place the bidder (and their directors) on a list of restricted bidders. This list is uploaded to the Central Supplier Database (a single national supplier repository for all organs of state) and procurement practitioners check suppliers on the CSD before work is awarded to them
