Secret Weapon is Actually OP!
First up is a secret weapon that is actually OP because of its hidden effect. The open hand monk is one of the strongest builds, but what if I told you there’s a way to make it even stronger - a way to make it IGNORE resistance to bludgeoning damage. This is all possible thanks to the Adamantine Mace. This mace causes your bludgeoning damage to ignore resistance - even if you’re not actually using it to attack. To do this, you’ll need to have it equipped in your offhand. This can be done by having your monk dual wield light weapons, then dragging the shield on another character over to your monk’s offhand. This places the mace in the offhand. Then go to your other character and empty their main hand slot, then click it and select the weapon in your monk’s main hand. You now have the adamantine mace just in your offhand! And to get this mace all you need to do is find the mold next to the Adamantine forge waypoint, add some mithril and it’s yours!

Secret Trader in Wyrm’s Rock Fortress
And next up is a secret trader in Wyrm’s Rock Fortress that most players miss. This trader will not trade with you unless you pass a dialogue check - and this trader’s name is Arkleia Oloril the Flaming Fist Quartermaster. She insists that this is an armory, and she is not a shopkeeper - these are for the flaming fist only. By passing the dialogue check you can access the armory’s goods, and while there isn’t any noteworthy equipment, they do have a good selection of arrows that will come in handy later on. Not only that, but by shopping here, you’ll be awarded a point of inspiration, and 340XP for anyone in your party with a Charlatan background, which Astarian has called Nothing’s Not for Sale.

Secret Messenger Rats
And next up are the secret messenger rats! 3 of these are SUPER RARE, hidden in an obscure place and only there if you saved the Nightsong in Act 2. These Secret Messenger Rats will actually convey clues to major quests in Act 3 for you if you have speak with animals on. One rat will say Gnomes in the sea - hinting at the Gondian prisoners in the Iron Throne. Another rat will say the Blushing Mermaid stinks of something fey, hinting at the presence of the Green Hag. Another will say there’s been killings in a holy place conveying news of father Lorgan's murder. And the last one will say creeps in cloaks creeping in the sewers, hinting at the Bhaalists hideout. And these 3 rats can be found in the basement of Jaheira’s house, known as Elerrathin's Home if the nightsong was spared in Act 2. And the fourth can be found down by the river, right beside the Baldur’s Gate waypoint.

New Trader Trick in Patch 7
And next up is a New Trader Trick in Patch 7 and shout out to Morgana who I learned this from. To do this trick, all you’ll need is two containers and a corpse of a creature that won’t count as stealing by looting it. I chose the addled frog because it’s light and easy to carry around, and also because I can’t loot rats for some reason. So stand next to a trader, drop the corpse on the ground and click loot on the corpse of your chosen creature, then talk to the trader to start trading. Sell a container to the trader and open it, and you’ll see the corpse’s loot box open at the same time. Put all the stuff you want into the container you sold them, then drag it all into the corpse. From there, close out of the trade window, and drag all the stuff from the corpse onto the icon of your other container, and all the stuff is yours.
