When mentioning CSS frameworks, most people think of UI components libraries such as bootstrap or foundation. Indeed, these frameworks consisting of UI components have been the main approach to building modern responsive web interfaces for a while now. But what if there was another way?

As craftsmen, the more different tools and approaches to problem solving we have in our arsenal the better. Tailwind CSS is, in our opinion, one such modern different kind of framework. Compared with traditional frameworks such as bootstrap, tailwind is a more low level, mainly utility based kind of frameworks. What this means is that Tailwind css does not have a set of components or "widgets" that build up the UI, Instead, Tailwind provides highly composable, low-level utility classes that make it easy to build complex user interfaces.

In this session, we shall explore the use of Tailwind to build the UI for an Angular app, and demonstrate its strengths and differences as compared to bootstrap.
