LA's first rap podcast, A Day In LA Podcast is back with another episode as Rap Report Card Critic, Dejon Paul, controversial YouTuber Rich Trapper, and LA female rapper Ash Bash Tha Rapper sit beside the palm tree and talk all things west coast hip-hop and media. The cast is joined by recent No Jumper fan favorite, Tam.
The episode begins as the cast clowns Rich Trapper for his viral cooking videos, a main topic of ODM Slim's recent live stream. From there the cast discusses their favorite dishes to cook, and some of their favorite restaurants to eat at throughout Los Angeles before interviewing Tam about her introduction to the media space, her rivalry with Brandon from the Crip Report Card, and working at No Jumper. After an interesting game of West West, where Tam picks which LA rapper or LA rap album she prefers out of a set, the cast puts together a Best No Jumper Hosts of All Time list ranking hosts like Adam22, T-Rell, Sharp, Housephone, AD, and Lush in high regard.
Rich Trapper exposes Poetik Flakko aka Frederick Jallah for being arrested for not paying an $100 taxi cab bill after being dropped off at a Walmart, as the cast discusses his strange and condescending disdain for African Americans given his African heritage. Dejon addresses "Underated" emcee Zoe Osama, who's upset over receiving a F grade on the recent LA Rapper Report Card. Zoe claims that Dejon and this podcast doesn't make it outside of LA so his opinion doesn't matter. After retorting to that by citing his work with east coast platforms like Complex, and Good Talk this year, Dejon details his commitment to improving and furthering this podcast, explaining how he fired his former co-hosts, switched out production crews, and got his own office space just to film this podcast so that it could improve and do better numbers. Dejon responds to Mr. Viral from the Viral Way Podcast, who somewhat came to his defense on the topic, stating that if LA music podcasts that primarily discuss LA music don't do high numbers, then that means the public isn't interested in LA rap music, and that the artists should get better. Dejon also responds to street news platform, LA Hood Media who subbed him over the weekend with an IG story post about his "Bunk Ass Report Cards", and alleging Dejon only interviews the same 6 artists. Dejon reads some of the salacious, gang related, and street headlines that LA Hood Media posts for clicks and engagement before reminding everyone how that the page is ran anonymously so it could be a whole police officer or elderly white racist Klan member behind the page.
The murder of LA rapper, YCA Eighty Bands is a topic as the cast discusses his very last Instagram story post where he claims LA platforms don't highlight enough new artists, and shades the current No Jumper hosts that rap like Munchie B, Ralfy the Plug and Almighty Suspect. Rich Trapper explains his disdain for Ralfy the Plug's music before Dejon's Hottest LA Female Rapper List is discussed, as Ash Bash graciously accepts her rank at #9 out of 10 slots among the likes of Doja Cat, Cuzzos, and Azjah. Female rappers that didn't make the list and responded with hostility are discussed before the cast debates whether the late Drakeo the Ruler or RJMRLA have better lyricism. Lastly, D'Angelo's untimely passing at the age of 51 after a battle with prostate cancer is discussed, before the cast make their own Neo Soul Mount Rushmore's with the likes of Maxwell, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Floetry, and more.
