The Building Safety Act 2022 introduces new duty holders and new duties for those responsible for occupied residential buildings that are at least 18m in height or have at least 7 stories and, in either case, contain at least 2 residential units.

This webinar will provide delegates with the latest information on safety case reports and Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications required under Part 4 of the Act direct from the Building Safety Regulator.

Aimed at principal accountable persons, accountable persons and those who may assist them in complying with their duties, the webinar will include:

- An update on BSR and any relevant “breaking news”

- A recap of key duties under Part 4 of the Act, a summary of the associated regulations and links to other regulatory regimes

- An introduction to safety cases and how the safety case report summarises the wider safety case to demonstrate accountable persons are meeting their duties under the Act

Pre-requisites for the safety case report:

- The importance of accurate information

- The risk assessment required under the Act

- Competence arrangements for managing building safety risks

- The concept of “all reasonable steps” and what it means in a building safety context

Preparing the report – making a demonstration:

- What needs to be included in the safety case report (based on the recently published Regulations)

- How to present interim measures and / or outstanding building safety works in the report

An overview of Building Assessment Certificates:

- What they are

- BSR timelines for working through the c.12,500 existing occupied buildings

- BAC Applications – when, what and how

- Assessment of BAC applications – what BSR will assess and how

- Outcomes of the assessment
