I accept that the little women grow up in all different ways as they all have different desires and ambitions, so it makes sense for Jo becoming a famous writer and find her true love, for Meg to follow her heart and have a family, for Amy to marry the man she had always loved.
But, still, in all this perfect sense Joe&Laurie don't end up together. I blame the wrong timing of course, but I'm sure there would have been a way for them to end up together and still realize themselves as adults. I'm sorry to say this, because I like the woman Amy has become, but I just can't stand her with Laurie. I refuse to believe that Jo was just Laurie's first love, I want to believe they needed to end up together. But I also believe that very often we don't end up with the perfect person for us, it's very rare to find them at the right time and space. Situations and things you can't prevent get in the way. When Laurie was ready, Jo wasn't. When Jo has thought through it (even though she never says she 'loves him'), Laurie has moved on.
