A new wind farm at Ceres in the Western Cape which recently started generating electricity for commercial purposes is now contributing 110 megawatts of electricity to the national energy grid. Construction of the renewable energy infrastructure on the farm costs around R3 billion.
It began in 2018 and was completed recently. The wind farm has signed a 20-year-purchase agreement with Eskom.
