Flextail Zero pump review

I was so excited to finally receive the Flextail Zero pump! I bought this myself and have no affiliation with Flextail. A lot of these online purchases can be disappointing, so it’s nice when something actually lives up to the hype. Here’s a short review so you can decide for yourself if this cool little gadget is worthy of joining the rest of your ultralight backpacking gear.

The Flextail Zero pump worked well to get all the air out when deflating my Nemo pad (make sure to remove the one-way valve), but it didn’t work so well deflating the Therm-a-Rest pad. The material of the pad would tend to block the WingLock valve inside the pad, preventing the pump from deflating the pad without straining the pump.

I also forgot to mention in the review that you press the power button twice to turn the pump on and then press it once to turn it back off.
