RAAG YAMAN KALYAN - HAROOF in concert with RONKINI GUPTA

The influence of Hindustani raags and classical tradition on popular culture and forms is evident in this video. Hindi Cinema has been the biggest influence on music in India. Ronkini Gupta, in our third concert ties the beauty of Raag Yaman to many sound tracks that we have all grown up with.

Yaman Kalyan, is the perfect blend of all "saat swar" with one "teevra madhyam"  that lends it the perfect sweetness that soothes and calms. A complete raaga which evokes love, affection, devotion and even melancholy sometimes. It's the perfect beginning to a concert.

"Kinare Kinare" in "Adhha Theka" is a lilting melody with so much "thehraav" allowing the calmness of the Raag to be explored, where as "Ae ri Aali" in Teentaal allows swift taans and sargams to express the playfulness of this raag.
