It's pretty trendy to be a UI/UX designer these days, and we often design with numbers-based "facts" in our arsenal with data-driven and analytics.

Although, 10 years ago in university, our main focus was to make human life convenient and inspire people, and thereby change human behaviour.

Ai helps people to handle data, but design does not exist for Ai. Design is a "thinking process" for people, so we listen to people, meet people, think with people, create solutions with people, and eventually design things for people.

When I was a student, I was crazy about such "design for people", and now, as a "Senior Art Director", I feel some discomfort in the current way of working and the way of using design, while working in the current era.

And I hope that more and more people will have the opportunity to reconsider the "essence of design" once again.

I'm a third culture kid, born in Seoul, moved to Tokyo soon after my father's graduate school and work, and spent my twenties in London.
