Ex-New Haven ALCO Takes Charge on the LA&L | Road Train Chase from Lakeville to Rochester 2-13-24

After getting a small glimpse of LAL 420 leading the road train last week, I was determined to try my luck at catching 420 leading again, this time for a full chase. Unfortunately, by the time I got a convenient enough day at work, the LA&L had once again rearranged their power. While 420 wasn't leading, the day was not disappointing as she was still on the train and being lead by ex-New Haven ALCO C425, number LAL 425, complete with its horizontal headlight arrangement, unique to the NH and PRR builds of the C425.

It was a very delightful chase, despite a few light snow squalls along the way. I stuck around to chase 420 leading southward, however their yard work at Genesee Junction proved to take longer than I could wait.
